Contact lenses from the 3D printer

If Eduard Kelbler had his way, this would soon be standard in opticians’ stores in this country. The Aalen University student has been researching this innovation since his bachelor’s thesis. He has now been awarded the university prize from Binder Optik GmbH for his work. The technology is not yet fully developed, but Prof. Dr. Andreas Holschbach is certain that the vision could soon become reality. “It is a courageous, forward-looking project,” said the supervisor of Kelbler’s bachelor thesis in his laudatory speech.
