New in Ansbach: Werner Optik is followed by Binder Optik
From March 2026, the former royal seat of the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach will say: Welcome to Binder Optik! The Böblingen-based optician has taken over the well-established specialist optician’s store in Ansbach’s historic Neustadt district. For three generations, Werner Optik – founded by Richard and Gerda Werner in Ansbach in 1943 – was a firm institution. After Corina Werner-Hartmann and Edgar Hartmann took over the business in 1987, the 3rd generation stepped into the starting blocks in 2021 with daughter Ann-Kathrin. On March 3, 2026, the doors in Ansbach will open anew.

Regular customers will hardly have to change their habits. Binder Optik is taking over the entire team. And the shop-in-shop concept with the charming café will continue in the same way. Ann-Kathrin Hartmann is delighted to have found a successor in Binder Optik that shares the same values and will carry them forward into the future. “Our traditional business will remain. I am very happy about that. And I am delighted that our customers will continue to place their trust in us.”
“82 years of history is an entrepreneurial masterpiece that demands all due respect,” says Binder Optik Managing Director Dominic Baur. We value the good reputation that Werner Optik has built up over the years and will continue to build on this success. Our customer base can look forward to Binder Optik’s typical variety of well-known brands, consistent customer and service orientation, the best advice and excellent price quality.”
