Binder Optik donates to the Björn Steiger Foundation’s “Felix” baby ambulance

To mark the company’s 50th anniversary, Böblingen-based optician Binder Optik has donated 50,000 euros to local good causes. The donation was made available to the 50 Binder Optik locations in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. Each specialist store thus has a sum of money amounting to 1,000 euros to support the work of charitable associations.

Binder Optik Verwaltung, based in Böblingen, is supporting the “Felix” baby ambulance project of the Björn Steiger Foundation with its donation. Every year in Germany, around 640 premature babies are transported to special clinics because they cannot be adequately cared for at their place of birth. For most, this is done in conventional ambulances. But for the youngest of the young, transportation that is as calm and vibration-free as possible can be life-critical. This is where “Felix” comes into play. The special baby emergency ambulance with a specially developed transport incubator transports newborns to the hospital for further treatment as if they were lying on clouds.
