Because we care about the little ones:
Baby emergency ambulance system “Felix”

Emergency ambulance for premature babies
To ensure that even the smallest babies receive the best possible care, Binder Optik supports the “Felix” baby emergency ambulance system initiative of the Björn Steiger Foundation with a sponsorship. The special emergency ambulances transport premature babies safely to another hospital.
Every year in Germany, around 640 premature babies are transported to special clinics because they cannot be adequately cared for at their place of birth.
Most of them are transported in regular ambulances – without special suspension and often alongside the direction of travel, exposing the babies to braking acceleration.
Baby emergency ambulance system “Felix”
In some circumstances, transportation that is as quiet and vibration-free as possible can be crucial for the little ones.
This is where “Felix” comes into play: In the special baby emergency ambulance with a specially developed transport incubator (“incubator”, see picture), newborns are “bedded like on clouds” during the journey: a damping system compensates for vibrations and shocks. Potholes up to 10 centimetres deep can be compensated for in this way.
In addition, “Felix” transports the babies at right angles to the direction of travel and therefore exposes them less to braking acceleration.

Binder Optik is baby ambulance sponsor
The special baby emergency ambulances “Felix” are stationed at various locations in Germany, including Stuttgart. The initiative is financed with the help of regional fundraising campaigns and sponsors.
We want to help ensure that the little patients reach their destination safe and sound and are supporting “Felix” with a sponsorship.
Further information on the initiative can be found here.
