A family business with vision – the beginning of Binder Optik
The first Binder branch was opened in 1975 in a medical center in Böblingen. Helmut Baur and his wife Gabriele proudly look back on almost 50 years of company history. After training as a watchmaker and optician and studying business administration, Helmut Baur initially worked in sales at Carl Zeiss in Oberkochen before setting up his own business at the age of 35. With Dominic Baur taking over the business, the company is now being continued by the next generation.

From the very beginning, we have attached great importance to maximum customer and service orientation, authentic craftsmanship, innovative technical equipment and a balanced price-performance ratio. We use the latest 3D technology for our eye tests. Our quality lenses come from our long-standing partners Zeiss, Hoya and Essilor; all manufacturers that meet our high quality standards.
Our employees undergo continuous further training at our in-house Binder Optik academy with the aim of always being able to provide our customers with state-of-the-art advice. Thanks to our close links with Aalen University of Applied Sciences, we are always up to date with the latest scientific research, which guarantees optimum service.
