Binder Optik awards prize at Aalen University
In their work, Hartmann and Krause jointly developed three viable business models for digital optometry. The award-winning bachelor’s thesis appears in a modified form in the specialist book “Business Models 4.0”, written by Professor Anna Nagl and Karlheinz Bozem.
For the 11th time, Binder Optik is honoring outstanding Bachelor theses from the Ophthalmic Optics course in Aalen. The awarding of the prize is not only an expression of the successful cooperation between the university and the economy, “but also fuel for the future of the young award winners”, said University Rector Gerhard Schneider. State Secretary Katrin Schütz also praised the outstanding achievements of the graduates in a video message.

In his laudatory speech, Dean of Studies Jürgen Nolting went on a journey through the careers of the award winners. Ann-Kathrin Hartmann, who comes from a family of opticians, was able to try her hand at small craft tasks at a young age. Frederik Alexander Krause, on the other hand, was looking for a course of study that was as varied as possible and found this in optometry. “They are now co-creators of the new age,” continued Nolting. Afterwards, Consul General Helmut Baur, Managing Partner of Binder Optik, presented the prize of 2000 euros.
